Therapeutic Massage

Restore balance. Relieve pain. Reconnect with your body.

At Attunement Wellness, our massage therapists combine advanced clinical training with a deeply holistic approach to healing. Every session is thoughtfully customized to your body’s needs—helping you move easily, recover from injury, and reconnect with your natural balance and well-being.

Our Integrative Approach

Our Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) are highly trained, so your session is guided by a deeper understanding of how muscles, fascia, joints, and the nervous system work together. This helps integrate all healing services within Attunement to be precise—especially when you’re dealing with pain, recurring tightness, or an injury that keeps coming back.

You’re supported by a collaborative care team. Our massage therapists are mentored by our in-house acupuncturists and chiropractors, so your treatment plan can combine Eastern and Western perspectives—without you having to coordinate it all yourself. We work in harmony with each other to deliver the highest quality of healthcare.

Your therapeutic session may include:

  • Medical Massage to identify and treat the specific tissues driving your symptoms—targeting the root cause, not just “general tension.”

  • Myofascial Release is a therapeutic medical massage technique that targets the fascia—your body’s connective tissue—to ease “stuck” areas that can cause pain, tightness, and limited range of motion. Using slow, sustained pressure and gentle stretching, it helps soften restrictions, improve tissue glide, and restore smoother, more comfortable movement. Many people notice longer-lasting relief and better mobility, especially with chronic tension, postural strain, or repetitive-use pain.

  • Neuromuscular Therapy to release trigger points and unwind chronic tension patterns—helping restore mobility and ease persistent pain.

  • Lymphatic Support (Vodder Technique-inspired) to gently encourage lymph flow, reduce heaviness and puffiness, and support healthy circulation—especially when your body feels inflamed, swollen, or “backed up.”

  • Cupping + Gua Sha (aka graston technique; Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Work) is used by all Attunement providers (massage therapists, acupuncturists, and chiropractors) when appropriate to help stubborn areas release and improve tissue mobility

You’ll also get collaborative coaching—simple home care, stretching, mobility, nutrition and supplement support, and recovery strategies—so your results hold between visits.

Healing in Partnership

Healing in Partnership

At Attunement Wellness, you’re more than a patient—you’re an active partner in your care. We take time to listen, clarify what’s going on, and understand your goals, then tailor each session to what your body needs that day—whether you’re managing pain, recovering from training, or seeking deeper ease and restoration.

Our approach is collaborative, patient-focused, and integrative, grounded in clear communication, integrity, and clinical excellence. You can expect a calm, grounded environment with respectful care, thoughtful technique, and a solutions-oriented plan—so you leave each session feeling supported, informed, and more at home in your body.

Benefits May Include

Depending on your goals, therapeutic massage at Attunement Wellness may help you:

  • Feel less pain and tightness—especially in high-use areas like calves, hips, low back, neck, and shoulders
  • Recover faster after training, repetitive work, injury, or post-event soreness
  • Move more freely with better mobility and less restriction in your stride, rotation, or overhead motion
  • Improve posture and balance by addressing patterns that keep pulling you off-center
  • Support circulation and lymphatic flow so you feel less heavy, congested, or inflamed
  • Calm your nervous system—helping your body shift out of “go-go-go” and into recovery mode
  • Reduce repetitive-strain flare-ups by improving tissue glide and decreasing protective guarding
  • Understand what your body needs with clearer awareness of movement patterns, alignment, and recovery habits
  • Feel more vitality and ease in day-to-day life—not just for an hour after your appointment

Athletic Recovery: Why massage + acupuncture + chiropractic works better together

If you train regularly—Hood to Coast, marathon prep, ski season, cycling climbs, power walking, Dragon boat racing, or professional athletic performance like the Portland Winterhawks Rosebuds Dance Team—your body is constantly adapting. What helps most is not “more treatment,” but the right combination at the right time.

  • Therapeutic massage helps your muscles and fascia recover from training load so you can keep moving well (less tightness, better range of motion, fewer compensations).
  • Chiropractic care supports joint mechanics and alignment so force transfers cleanly—especially through the hips, spine, ribs, shoulders, and ankles.
  • Acupuncture supports recovery by calming pain signals, reducing stress-driven guarding, and helping your nervous system reset between training blocks.
  • Orthopedic Sports Acupuncture disinhibits tight muscles and teaches them to work more efficiently again. An overly tight muscle can also be a weak muscle.

When our practitioners work together under one roof, you get a plan that supports:

  • Consistency (fewer training interruptions)
  • Better movement efficiency (less “fight” in your stride, stroke, or swing)
  • Faster recovery (so soreness doesn’t change your mechanics and create new problems)

This is why many athletes choose therapeutic/structural work over a spa massage: you’re not just seeking relaxation—you’re investing in recovery, durability, and performance.
