Back, Neck & Shoulder Pain Relief in Portland, OR
Back pain, a stiff neck, or a shoulder that won't let you sleep? At Attunement Wellness in Johns Landing, SW Portland, three specialists work together on your pain: acupuncture and dry needling, chiropractic, and massage therapy, coordinated under one roof.
One Team, One Plan for Your Pain
Acupuncture & Dry Needling
Dr. Dani Brunner, DACM, LAc calms pain signals, reduces inflammation, and releases tight trigger points. Acupuncture · Dry needling

Because your providers share notes, your plan can combine treatments in the order that helps most. For example, a massage before an adjustment, or dry needling for a muscle that keeps pulling a joint out of place.
Back Pain Relief in Portland
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people visit us. It often comes from long hours at a desk, lifting, running, or an old injury that never fully healed.
- Low back pain and muscle spasms
- Sciatica and pain down the leg
- Mid-back stiffness and rib pain
- Disc-related and postural pain
Acupuncture and dry needling ease pain and release deep muscles like the QL and glutes.
Chiropractic improves movement in stiff spinal and pelvic joints.
Massage relaxes guarding muscles so the relief lasts longer.
Neck Pain Treatment
Phones, laptops, and stress all load the neck. Over time, that strain can cause stiffness, headaches, and pain into the shoulder blade.
- Stiff neck and "tech neck"
- Neck pain after a car accident or whiplash
- Pain between the shoulder blades
- Neck-related tension headaches
Acupuncture calms irritated nerves and tight upper-trap and neck muscles.
Chiropractic restores motion in the cervical and upper thoracic spine.
Massage releases the neck, jaw, and upper back.
Shoulder Pain Treatment
Shoulder pain can limit reaching, lifting, sleeping, and sports. We assess how your shoulder blade, neck, and upper back move, not just the sore spot.
- Rotator cuff strain and tendon irritation
- Frozen or stiff shoulder
- Shoulder pain from lifting, climbing, or throwing
- Shoulder pain that comes from the neck
Dry needling and acupuncture target rotator cuff and trigger points.
Chiropractic improves shoulder blade, rib, and neck mechanics.
Massage and assisted stretching restore range of motion.
Hip, Knee, and Joint Pain
We also treat hip and knee pain, tendon pain like tennis elbow, carpal tunnel and other repetitive strain, arthritis pain, and pain after surgery. Got hurt playing sports? See sports injuries. In a car accident? See auto injury care. Headaches? See headache treatment.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
First, we listen to your history and goals. Next, we check posture, movement, and the muscles and joints involved. Then you start treatment the same day. Finally, we map out a plan that tells you which provider to see, and how often.
Insurance
We bill most major plans, including Kaiser, MODA, Providence, Regence BCBS, and United Healthcare. Coverage varies by service. We also bill Oregon PIP directly for auto injuries. Call or text 503-206-0300 for a free benefits check.

I have been a patient of Dr. Danielle Brunner at Attunement Wellness for several weeks. I was about to give up on finding anyone who could provide relief for an extremely painful neck and shoulder. Dr. Brunner spent a great deal of time with me to explore a treatment plan and care regimen. Through electroacupuncture and cupping therapy she has been able to release extremely tight muscles knots and skeletal posture and is providing much needed and appreciated relief. Dr, Brunner takes a wholistic approach to health and wellness and she has helped me immeasurable through her therapeutic practice.,Posted on Google![]()

I have seen many practitioners at Attunement Wellness over the past 5 years and have been so grateful for the care I've received there when learning to manage my chronic pain. My original reason for going in was low back pain but Dr. Dani has helped me understand so much more the issues my body experiences including hormones, gastrointestinal issues, acute injuries, sleep quality, and overall emotional health. All of the providers I've seen here have taken phenomenal care of me, but Dr. Dani, the owner and founder is so knowledgable, kind, communicative, and caring. 10/10 recommend
